Everlasting

Souls once bonded as one
Now torn and pulled apart
With the spinning on the clock
The only hands on which to blame

Smiles of old heated with joy
Now falter with frailty
Leaving only gazing eyes
To tell emotions longed to say

Embracing recollections of youth
As idle ticking shifts to silence
With the touch of withered hands
A rare beauty sings a lifetime of devotion
